Alarm.com is seeking an experienced information security professional for a senior role in Tysons, VA. You will lead IoT penetration testing, firmware extraction, and reverse engineering, driving vulnerability discovery and risk assessment across devices and applications.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in information security, strong offensive security background, and experience with embedded Linux and firmware analysis.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of information security experience with a focus on offensive security.
• Experience performing security testing and assessment in IoT, embedded, or firmware environments.
• Familiarity with embedded Linux and firmware images.
• Experience with reverse engineering tools and techniques.
• Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform IoT penetration testing, including firmware extraction, reverse engineering, and vulnerability discovery.
• Perform security research, analysis, and testing across applications, platforms, and systems.
• Use manual and automated techniques to assess risks and bypass security controls.
• Oversee deployment and configuration of security solutions for IoT infrastructure.
• Document risk impacts and test findings clearly in reports.
• Triage and drive remediation of security issues reported by external parties.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, product, and other stakeholders to minimize risks.
• Other duties as assigned.
