Job summary

Capital One seeks an experienced Lead Software Engineer, iOS, to drive mobile product delivery in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will own major components, mentor teammates, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across iOS, Android, APIs, and Web to deliver engaging customer experiences.

The role requires 4+ years in software engineering with strong Swift skills, a Bachelor’s degree, and a passion for learning new mobile technologies in a dynamic, on-site McLean, VA setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years building iOS applications.
• 3+ years of Swift programming experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop iOS client code solutions aligned to product strategy and engineering standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, UX/UI, quality, and product owners to deliver high-quality experiences.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and meet team commitments on time.
• Advocate mobile platform internally and externally in developer communities.
• Continuously learn Swift, Kotlin, and mobile libraries.
• Contribute to group discussions and share feedback with the team.
• Mentor junior to mid-level team members.
• Engage with cross-discipline teams across Android, iOS, APIs, and Web.
• Lead delivery of major components in partnership with senior engineers and architects.
• Share best practices and improve sprint processes.
• Identify obstacles early and propose creative solutions.
• Review pull requests to ensure Swift idioms and quality.
