Job summary

ESPN is seeking a Senior Product Software Engineer for the Apple ecosystem to design a feature-rich streaming playback library using Objective-C/Swift. You will collaborate with product, design and other platforms to deliver a consistent playback experience across ESPN, Disney+, and Hulu on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.

You will own architecture decisions, emphasize MVC/MVVM, unit testing and CI, and work in a cross-functional team to solve hard technical problems while keeping the end-user

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of iOS development experience.
• At least 3 years of Swift experience.
• Experience implementing complex UIs with UIKit or SwiftUI.
• 3+ years in agile processes.
• Understanding design patterns like MVC or MVVM.
• Proficiency in OOP and Reactive paradigms.
• Familiarity with iOS/TVOS lifecycle.
• Solid OOP skills and maintainable code writing.
• Experience with unit tests and CI systems.
• Strong communication and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement features collaborating with Disney media services and back-ends.
• API design with peer teams and front-end teams.
• R&D for media playback experiences and testing.
• Participate in project estimation and resource planning.
• Collaborate in small teams and across the larger organization.
• Troubleshoot issues across platforms.
• Work with Apple technologies (UIKit, SwiftUI, AVKit, StoreKit).
