The Community You Will Join:

The Storefronts team is responsible for the front-door to Airbnb’s guest product experience and delivers new features that inspire guests to explore and discover the best Stays, Experiences and Services around the world. Some of the team’s recent projects include building an all new homepage for Airbnb, a new Experiences Search UX, and a category for once-in-a-lifetime Icons experiences.

The team is highly collaborative with partners in design, product, and data science, to deliver features used by millions of people. We also work closely with other engineering teams on systems that enable engineers to develop more efficiently, create improvements that make the product more performant and configurable, and build technical architectures that are scalable and robust.

The Difference You Will Make:

You will play an impactful role in building world-class browse and search experiences for millions of Airbnb users. You'll prototype and deliver novel user experiences for our iOS app and solve architectural, performance, and scalability challenges while working with our codebase. You'll also guide junior engineers and foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

A Typical Day:

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to design and deliver high-quality Search features and enhancements for Airbnb iOS app.
• Prototype new features to collect feedback, determine feasibility and iterate with design and product partners to reach ideal product solutions.
• Identify areas of codebase improvements, drive mobile best practices and architect performant, reliable and scalable mobile solutions.
• Provide input in the team’s roadmap and technical direction.
• Effectively advise stakeholders on the technical scope and feasibility of complex product requirements.
• Follow data-informed approaches to conduct experiments and iterate on features.
• Mentor, guide, advocate and support the career growth of individual contributors.

Your Expertise

• 5+ years’ experience developing iOS applications at scale with large user bases.
• Expertise in building and maintaining high-performance and scalable consumer iOS applications, preferably using Swift and SwiftUI.
• Strong understanding of app architecture, performance and scalability.
• Passion for prototyping, motion/animation and working closely with design and product partners to create compelling user experiences.
• Experience working with media on iOS (e.g. video, images, lottie)
• Enjoy collaborating via code reviews and architecture discussions, and are motivated to improve their teammates’ productivity.
• Demonstrated adaptability and a flexible mindset to embrace changing priorities and willingness to contribute to building new product experiences and strengthening the team’s technical foundation.
• Passionate about continuous learning and innovation in the mobile industry.

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
