Job summary

The Athletic Media Company seeks an experience iOS engineer to own core aspects of our native iOS app and contribute to its architecture and UI. You will build polished, high-quality experiences and maintainable code with a focus on fast iteration.

You will collaborate with Design and Product, write tests, and help scale the app for growth while staying aligned with Apple’s latest features. This is a remote role for candidates in the United States or Canada with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience with native iOS development in Swift.
  • Consumer-facing product and design instincts with a voice in product decisions
  • Preferred experience with GraphQL, SwiftUI, Combine or similar modern iOS frameworks

  • Work with Design and Product teams to build UI that is beautiful, performant, and well-engineered

About the Role

Our ideal candidate will own key aspects of our native iOS application and contribute to our core features and architecture. We’re looking for an experienced engineer who can build beautiful, polished user experiences and architect elegant, maintainable code. We prioritize fast iteration without compromising quality. Successful candidates keep up-to-date with best practices and have a familiarity with bleeding-edge features from Apple.

This role is remote for candidates currently located in the United States or Canada.

Requirements

  • Passion for sports and media is helpful, but not required

The annual base salary range for this role is $145,000.00 - $160,000.00 USD. The total compensation offered for this position may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, and location. It may also include non-cash rewards and benefits. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

For roles in the U.S., dependent on your role, you may be eligible for variable pay, such as an annual bonus and restricted stock. Benefits may include medical, dental and vision benefits, Flexible Spending Accounts (F.S.A.s), a company-matching 401(k) plan, paid vacation, paid sick days, paid parental leave, tuition reimbursement and professional development programs.

For roles outside of the U.S., information on benefits will be provided during the interview process.
