Job description

Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America (MBRDNA) is committed to delivering world-class automotive technologies that push the boundaries of what is possible. Our teams of highly skilled engineers and designers use cutting-edge software and technology to enhance the driving experience and reduce environmental impact.

In our R&D facilities in the U.S., you will be surrounded by engineers, software developers and designers pushing technology boundaries to shape the future of our industry. We are not only focused on cars but also on the latest and greatest software, cutting-edge technology and groundbreaking innovation.

We are looking for a Senior iOS Mobile Developer to help advance the Mercedes me app for North America. This role will contribute to the design, development and maintenance of iOS experiences that enable Connected Car features and integrate the mobile app into Mercedes-Benz’s end-to-end customer experience. You will build on a highly rated application and expand its capabilities to meet business goals, customer expectations and North American market needs.

The Senior iOS Mobile Developer will work within a fast-paced, cross-functional team alongside mobile engineers, backend developers, product owners, UX designers, QA and global development partners. The role requires strong technical ownership, collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design judgement and a commitment to delivering high-quality mobile features across iPhone, Apple Watch and connected vehicle experiences.

Relocation assistance (domestic or international) is not provided for this position.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, build and maintain iOS features for the Mercedes me connect mobile app serving North American customers.
  • Lead iOS feature implementation architecture and strategy, aligning technical direction with product, UX, QA, backend and global stakeholders.
  • Develop Connected Car experiences that integrate mobile app functionality with Mercedes-Benz vehicles, backend services and the broader digital ecosystem.
  • Apply North American market expertise to identify customer needs, propose product improvements and support changes within infotainment and connected-car domains.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, reliability, security and responsiveness of the iOS application across supported devices, including mobile phones and wearables.
  • Collaborate with global teams to define, design, implement and ship new features in alignment with business priorities and release timelines.
  • Take a proactive approach to root-cause analysis, incident resolution, defect prevention and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks, resolve bugs reported by QA and improve code quality, maintainability and test coverage.
  • Partner with Product and UX Design to clarify acceptance criteria, technical feasibility, customer experience requirements and story readiness.
  • Participate actively in Scrum refinement and estimation sessions, accurately sizing work and delivering stories within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain high standards for code quality, pull request quality, documentation and adherence to Mercedes-Benz development guidelines.
  • Break down pull requests into manageable increments to support efficient review, testing and merge processes.
  • Review and approve pull requests from other developers, providing constructive feedback and promoting engineering best practices.
  • Support release readiness, app store publication activities and compliance with Apple Developer guidelines.
  • Contribute to team KPIs and OKRs by focusing on prioritised roadmap items, delivery commitments and measurable product outcomes.
  • Conduct competitor benchmarking and customer-experience analysis to recommend enhancements for the North American mobile app experience.
  • Mentor junior developers through code reviews, pairing, shadowing, technical guidance and best-practice documentation.
  • Foster continuous learning, inclusive collaboration and process improvement within a diverse engineering team.
  • Work effectively in a global environment with peers and partners in Germany, India, China and other Mercedes-Benz development locations.
  • Utilise diverse opinions, cultural perspectives and cross-functional expertise to improve product quality and customer value.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required for this position.
Minimum Qualifications
