Job summary

Airbnb is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer for the Passport & Commerce org to build end-to-end iOS features for millions of guests and hosts. You will ship reliable, high-performance experiences and establish patterns for future iOS surface growth while partnering with backend, Android, and design teams.

You will design with modern UI, mentor peers, and help scale iOS practices within a newly formed team, ensuring consistency with cross-platform APIs and release/CI processes at a global scale.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional iOS engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Swift and modern iOS architecture (SwiftUI, MVVM/MVI/Redux-style).
• Experience partnering with backend and other platform engineers to shape APIs.
• Track record of owning complex features end-to-end from design to launch.
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical decisions.
• Comfort operating with ambiguity on a newly formed team.

Responsibilities

• Design and build iOS features using declarative UI and unidirectional state.
• Collaborate with product and design to create polished iOS experiences.
• Work with backend/Android/web engineers to ensure cross-platform consistency.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in reviews.
• Mentor teammates and raise engineering practices as the team scales.
• Troubleshoot performance and reliability issues in the iOS app.
