Korn Ferry Group is seeking a Sr Investment Accountant in New York City with deep expertise in STAT reporting, Schedule D, and fixed income accounting. The role focuses on review and oversight, not daily preparer work, and includes mentoring and knowledge transfer during leadership transitions.

The ideal candidate brings 15+ years in insurance investment accounting, strong NAIC filing experience, and excellent stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of insurance investment accounting experience.
• Strong background in statutory (STAT) reporting.
• Deep expertise with Schedule D reporting, preferably at a review or approval level.
• Extensive fixed income accounting experience.
• Experience reviewing and validating NAIC filings.
• Prior year-end close support experience within an insurance investment accounting environment.
• Experience serving as a reviewer, approver, or SME rather than exclusively a preparer.
• Strong understanding of investment accounting reconciliations, controls, and reporting processes.
• Proven ability to provide knowledge transfer and operational support during leadership or staffing transitions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsabilités

• Review and oversee statutory investment accounting and reporting activities.
• Perform detailed review of Schedule D reporting and related investment disclosures.
• Review and validate NAIC filings for accuracy and compliance.
• Provide guidance on fixed income investment accounting, including valuation, amortization, and reporting considerations.
• Support year-end close activities related to the investment portfolio.
• Review investment accounting reconciliations, controls, and reporting processes.
• Partner with accounting, finance, and investment teams to resolve complex accounting issues.
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor to less experienced team members.
• Identify process risks, reporting concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer and operational continuity ahead of an upcoming retirement.
