The New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) seeks an Assistant Director Investment Accounting to lead its Investment Accounting Unit, focusing on delivering accurate financial reporting for a $22+ billion portfolio across equities, fixed income, private markets, and bank loans.

The role emphasizes deep experience in STAT investment accounting, vendor data validation, and collaboration with auditors, IT, and external managers to strengthen controls and drive efficiency.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of analytical experience in STAT investment accounting on established platforms.
• Experience with private markets investments and corporate actions processing.
• Proficiency reviewing regulatory schedules (Schedule BA/D) and reconciling GL to reports.

Responsabilités

• Review vendor-provided investment data for multiple asset classes including equities, fixed income, private markets and loans.
• Support month-end close by reconciling positions across investment system, custodian, and managers.
• Produce roll-forward reconciliations of carrying values and earned income.
• Validate regulatory reports (Schedule BA, Schedule D) and assist with quarterly filings.
