Job summary

Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking an Investigator 2 at the Washington Corrections Center in Shelton, WA. The role conducts complex investigations, analyzes intelligence on incarcerated individuals, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to enhance facility safety and public protection.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and investigative experience; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years’ custody/case management experience and six months of investigative experience preferred.
• Three years’ investigative experience in criminal justice or related field acceptable with substitutions.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and completes complex investigations.
• Writes thorough investigative reports and maintains case files.
• Gathers, preserves, and analyzes evidence per policy.
• Assists in training on security and investigative issues.
• Responds to inquiries from outside agencies and internal stakeholders.
• Operates and monitors DOC information systems (Securus, JPAY, OMNI).
