Job summary

The State of Hawai'i, Department of Law Enforcement, Intelligence Enforcement Unit, seeks an Investigator V to lead and conduct complex investigations across civil, administrative and criminal laws statewide.

You will coordinate with federal, state, and county partners, manage undercover or in-depth inquiries, and help enforce homeland security priorities while supporting asset-sharing programs and legal firearm duties.

Qualifications

• Legal Authorization to Work in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Three and a half (3-1/2) years of progressive investigative experience.
• At least one year of Specialized Experience comparable to Investigator IV.
• Selective Certification related to Homeland Security investigations.
• Substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements.
• Special Requirements: firearms qualification and no domestic violence conviction.
• Valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment drug test requirement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations and enforcement actions related to homeland security and criminal activities.
• Coordinate with Federal, State, and County agencies in investigations.
• Conduct seizure and forfeiture cases on currency, vehicles, and property.
• Participate in Federal asset-sharing programs with agencies such as DEA.
