City of Newberry is seeking an Investigator to conduct advanced law enforcement work, investigate violations of state and federal laws, and protect life and property in Newberry, SC.

The role involves preparing cases for court, presenting findings, and maintaining detailed records and evidence. Candidates must have an associate degree in a relevant field and at least three years of law enforcement experience, plus a SC driver’s license.

Competenze

• Requires Associate degree in criminal justice, business, social science, or related field.
• Three years of experience in law enforcement.
• Must possess a valid South Carolina driver's license.
• May require additional certification as deemed necessary by the City.

Mansioni

• Investigates all violations of State, Municipal, and Federal laws; interviews suspects and victims.
• Compiles, prepares, and processes administrative reports and records.
• Maintains evidence and prepares cases for prosecution; assists in court proceedings.
• Remains on-call 24 hours per day for emergencies and handles walk-in reports.
• Performs fingerprinting and forensic interviews as needed; supports Narcotics Division.
