Job summary

Advocate Health in Illinois is seeking an experienced Inventory and procurement professional to manage cost-effective maintenance and monitoring of hospital inventory. You will coordinate inventory levels across sites, resolve procurement issues, and maintain product catalogs and vendor relationships to maximize efficiency.

Responsibilities include tracking inventory age and cost reports, collaborating with Corporate Purchasing, and supporting standardization and cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of computerized purchasing and/or materials management/distribution systems.
• Excellent communication, human relations, and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated and detail oriented.
• Basic computer skills in using Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains cost effective maintenance and monitoring programs for inventory to maximize usage and minimize expenses.
• Coordinates inventory levels across sites utilizing ASLMC Services; acts as main contact for inter-site inquiries.
• Resolves procurement issues including vendor disputes, invoice discrepancies, expedited orders, and damaged product handling.
• Reviews and recommends changes to base inventory data levels; advises on cost savings opportunities.
• Maintains product catalogs and electronic catalogs for all products.
• Develops and maintains systems to track inventory age, overstocks, and vendor exchanges.
• Collaborates with Corporate Purchasing to review purchase requisitions, verify orders, place orders and ensure vendor delivery.
• Produces and reviews usage and cost reports for management and Corporate Purchasing Manager.
