Job description

The Senior Inventory Accountant is responsible for inventory accuracy, inventory optimization, pricing integrity, truck stock management, and related parts operations. This role ensures appropriate inventory levels are maintained to support customer needs while minimizing inventory investment and improving operational efficiency. The position works closely with sales, service, purchasing, and operations to support customer satisfaction and company profitability.

Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Control
  • Maintain accurate inventory across warehouse and service truck locations.
  • Manage cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and inventory adjustments.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies, including negative quantities.
  • Ensure inventory transactions are properly scanned and recorded.
  • Reconcile inventory reports and maintain strong inventory controls.
  • Inventory Optimization
Pricing & Product Administration
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify opportunities to reduce inventory investment.
  • Manage excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
  • Review stocking levels and inventory movement trends to support service requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to utilize existing inventory before purchasing new materials.

Customer & Operational Support
  • Support customer sales efforts through effective inventory planning and availability.
  • Generate and monitor stock pull reports and replenishment activities.
  • Ensure warehouse, truck stock, receiving, and inventory processes operate efficiently.
  • Track inventory requirements related to jobs and sales orders.
  • Warranty & Continuous Improvement

  • Process warranty-related inventory transactions and adjustments.
  • Conduct inventory research and problem resolution.

  • Qualifications
Education

Degree in Accounting preferred.

Experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, cycle counting, and warehouse operations.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to analyze inventory reports and business metrics.
  • Knowledge of inventory valuation, purchasing, receiving, and replenishment processes.
