Job summary

Applied Research Solutions is seeking a System Interoperability and Integration Engineer SME to join a San Antonio-based team at Lackland AFB. Responsibilities include leading architecture, integration, and DevOps efforts for the Big Bang platform and its AWS infrastructure, with Kubernetes orchestrated via Helm and DevSecOps practices.

The role requires US citizenship and a DoD clearance, with extensive experience in interoperability, DevOps, and hands-on cloud/Kubernetes environments.

Qualifications

• US Citizen with ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Active DoD 8570 IAT/IAM certification or ability to obtain (e.g., Security+)
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
• 7 years of interoperability and integration engineering experience
• 5+ years of DevOps and continuous delivery experience
• Experience with DevOps metrics tracking (DORA dashboard or similar)

Responsibilities

• Configure pipelines and automation for metric gathering.
• Oversee architecture, integration, and evolution of AWS-based DevOps infrastructure using Kubernetes and Helm.
• Translate product requirements into actionable designs and architectural decisions.
• Serve as technical authority for Helm-based Kubernetes orchestration.
• Design and evolve Helm charts for platform services and integrations.
• Ensure Kubernetes clusters follow best practices for configuration, upgrades, and lifecycle.
• Create enterprise data visibility for the AF CSO.
• Lead automated metrics model development to drive improvement.
• Support continuous testing processes to improve quality.
• Coach teams to accelerate delivery and improve quality.
• Develop DevOps culture evangelism and knowledge sharing.
