Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an Internal Controls Senior Consultant in the Washington, DC area to support an international finance organization’s A-123 program. You will plan, perform, and document internal control assessments, conduct walkthroughs and risk evaluations, and prepare audit-ready workpapers and presentations.

The role requires US citizenship, five years of controls experience, and knowledge of federal frameworks.

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen due to client engagements.
• Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust; Active Public Trust or Suitability preferred.
• Five (5) years of experience supporting internal controls, risk management, compliance, or audit readiness.
• Experience with risk and control assessments, control testing, internal audits, or compliance reviews.
• Knowledge of OMB Circular A-123, GAO Green Book, internal control frameworks, or ERM.
• Ability to develop client-ready analyses, reports, and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Support execution of internal controls programs, including planning, performing, and documenting assessments.
• Conduct walkthroughs, risk assessments, control evaluations, and testing of design and operating effectiveness.
• Analyze processes to identify control gaps and improvements; prepare workpapers and audit-ready documentation.
• Facilitate meetings with client stakeholders to discuss results, remediation, and improvements.
• Monitor corrective actions and provide governance and risk management recommendations.
• Support project management, status reporting, and coordination across workstreams.
