Job summary

MWRA seeks an auditor to conduct financial and performance audits of operations and capital programs to safeguard MWRA assets and ensure the integrity, reliability, efficiency and effectiveness of systems, policies and contracts. The role may lead a team or provide direct support on complex audits in Chelsea, MA.

Posting period and schedule are provided. The position may be eligible for teleworking up to 50% of the work week after a waiting period.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting/Management Systems or related field.
• At least three years of experience in planning, water and/or wastewater operations or engineering; or an equivalent combination.
• Valid Class D driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Reviews management control systems and related policies to evaluate weaknesses and effectiveness of internal controls.
• Develops audit programs, procedures and techniques for specific assignments.
• Presents audit results and recommends actions to management and prepares formal reports.
• Conducts financial audits of MWRA contracts to ensure allowability and reasonableness of costs.
• Tests databases to verify data reliability for internal and external audits.
• Performs related duties as required.
