Job summary

Buckingham Search is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join our client’s team in the North American distribution sector. You will assess risk, plan audits, and lead operational reviews across warehouses, production sites, and distribution processes.

You will document controls, draft actionable findings, and present progress to senior leaders. A CPA/CIA/CFE or progress toward one is a plus, with travel about 25% within the U.S. and occasional international trips.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Experience in internal audit, public accounting or risk consulting preferred.
• CPA, CIA or CFE, or progress toward one is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Help the audit leadership team assess risk, plan the annual audit calendar and build audit programs.
• Lead operational audits, especially around inventory and distribution, with some financial and compliance testing.
• Evaluate how internal controls are designed and whether they're working, then document what you find.
• Run advisory reviews of company processes and recommend practical improvements.
• Agree findings and action plans with process owners and management at every level.
• Write clear reports on how well controls and processes are working.
