Job summary

Gesa Credit Union is seeking a Sr. Auditor - Operations to strengthen quality, consistency, and process improvements across Internal Audit.

Reporting to the VP of Internal Audit, you will support audit planning, risk assessments, QAIP, and coordination with external audits, while mentoring team members. You will lead audits of internal controls, develop audit programs, and provide training to auditors, helping the department align with professional standards and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of audit-related experience; financial institution environment preferred.
• A four-year degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent training/experience.
• Background in the financial industry and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
• Experience performing internal audits and risk assessments in a credit union or similar sector.
• CPA, CIA or CISA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer ongoing monitoring and internal quality assessments; document results and actions.
• Coordinate external quality assessments per required frequency and expectations.
• Maintain Internal Audit methodology, templates, and department documentation.
• Track audit plan performance, KPIs, capacity, cycle time, and actions.
• Perform audits of controls, systems, transactions, policies, and procedures.
• Develop audit programs, organize work plans, and prepare written reports.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to auditors; promote standards.
• Assist management with specialized audit needs and third-party engagements.
