Job summary

Delaware River Port Authority Police Department in Camden, NJ is seeking an experienced Inspector General support role to assist the Audit Committee, Board of Commissioners, and management by providing audits and consulting services that strengthen internal controls.

You will develop audit programs, analyze risk, and prepare formal reports while guiding adherence to government regulations and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in business, accounting, finance or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in internal audit, risk management or compliance.
• Minimum 5 total years in accounting, finance or analytical roles.
• Proficient in MS Office; familiar with audit standards (COSO/GAAS).
• Strong communication skills and willingness to pursue accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits and risk assessments of controls and processes.
• Review and test internal controls; identify opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare audit work papers and formal audit reports for management.
• Provide consulting on risk management and control strategies.
• Assist in annual audit planning and follow up on recommendations.
• Coordinate with management and departments during audits.
