Job summary

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet seeks an Internal Audit Supervisor in Franklin County to lead a team of professional auditors. You will oversee audits of internal processes performed under Generally Accepted Governmental Auditing Standards (GAGAS).

Responsibilities include supervising staff, ensuring timely audit plans, and providing technical guidance. Occasional travel and ongoing training are expected as part of a dynamic government audit team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with accounting coursework; 20 semester hours in accounting required.
• Four years of professional auditing or internal auditing experience.
• Master's degree in accounting or MBA can substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall audit performance and review workpapers for accuracy.
• Monitor audit progress and ensure the audit plan is completed on time.
• Assign auditors and optimize productivity.
• Provide technical guidance to audit staff and report status to management.
• Coordinate training and keep current on audit standards; travel as needed.
• Provide audit direction and evaluate staff performance.
• Perform more complex and high-profile audits.
