Job summary

Board & Vellum, located in Seattle, WA, seeks an experienced Interior Designer to lead residential interiors projects, spanning single-family, multifamily, commercial, and civic works. The role emphasizes mentorship, design storytelling, and collaboration across design disciplines.

You will bring depth, judgment, and leadership to a team working on custom residential, multifamily, commercial, and civic projects, with salary commensurate with experience (90k–110k).

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in a relevant field, or commensurate working experience in the industry.
• Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong graphic presentation and visual communication skills.
• Hand-sketching skills are a plus.
• Desire to be involved in every phase of projects.
• Proactive, engaged, and able to handle multiple projects and tasks.
• Passionate about critique and continual learning.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams to develop design concepts and documentation, aligning with client goals and project narratives.
• Own the design vision on projects, curate material palettes, and assemble packages the studio is proud of.
• Manage project deliverables, budgets, and schedules, serving as a primary client/consultant contact.
• Produce and oversee design documentation and technical drawings in Revit with precision.
• Mentor emerging designers through review, critique, and day-to-day collaboration.
• Contribute to a collaborative studio culture where your voice shapes how we work.
