Job Overview

Responsible for supporting and managing all interior design activities, including space planning, drafting, furniture, color and materials, and presentations related to interior design and architecture/fit-out projects.

Essential Functions

1. Lead project management from initiation to closeout, including planning, scope, budgeting, bidding, negotiations, inspections, scheduling, and move management.
2. Coordinate with university departments, external consultants, vendors, and internal project teams.
3. Oversee interior design scope of major capital projects, ensuring compliance with university standards and guidelines.
4. Develop and manage budgets for FF&E and finishes inventories, including lifecycle planning.
5. Enhance space utilization for flexibility and scalability to optimize costs and space efficiency.
6. Evaluate inventory management practices to promote reuse and reduce surplus stock.
7. Partner with Procurement to ensure best practices in solicitation processes.
8. Support the development of interior designers and maintain service standards.
9. May supervise staff, including hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
10. Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
• Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or equivalent training.
• NCIDQ certification required.
• At least 5 years' experience in interior design or related field, preferably in commercial furniture.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Primarily sedentary with some physical activity such as lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
