Job summary

Moody Nolan in Nashville seeks a Senior Interior Designer/Interior Architect to lead interior design efforts on large, complex projects within a collaborative, multidisciplinary studio.

The role emphasizes design leadership, client engagement, and delivering integrated interior and architectural solutions across market sectors, including sports, hospitality, education, and civic projects. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional interior design experience, preferably within a large architectural or multidisciplinary firm.
• NCIDQ Certification is required; Architecture registration is also considered in place of NCIDQ.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience leading interior design for large, complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive the development of interior design projects across all phases, from programming and concept through construction administration.
• Collaborate with Project Architects, Project Managers, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate integrated interior and architectural design solutions.
• Contribute to and support interior design efforts across multiple projects and all project phases.
• Support or lead components of the design process, including space planning, finish development, and FF&E selection, visualization, specifications, and documentation.
• Develop and prepare high-quality design documentation and deliverables, including drawings, schedules, specifications, renderings, and presentation materials.
• Develop and complete full contract document sets, including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans (RCP), elevations, finish plans, millwork drawings, details, and schedules.
• Coordinate with consultants across disciplines.
• Ensure continuity and efficiency of design deliverables within schedules and budgets.
• Participate in design critiques, client meetings, and presentations of design concepts.
• Create graphics and presentation materials and lead ideation sessions to elevate design quality.
• Incorporate sustainable design strategies and assist in construction administration.
