Job summary

The Building People is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join the Design Services Team in Washington, DC. The role focuses on Workplace Strategy and Design Management, using AutoCAD daily to develop detailed plans for new construction, renovations, and reconfigurations of campus buildings.

You will lead aspects of projects, produce detailed drawings, review furniture proposals, and ensure adherence to design specifications while coordinating with clients and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in institutional architecture, interior design, or space planning.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience with TRIRIGA for Space Management is a plus.
• Ability to present design solutions to clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D drawings including FF&E and building systems using established standards.
• Support multiple projects of varying size and complexity.
• Review furniture proposals with industry knowledge.
• Prepare and present specifications for projects.
• Assist construction administration with site visits and inspections.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, spaces planners, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain design cohesiveness and ensure timely delivery.
