Job summary

TheCorporate LLC seeks a Senior Interior Designer to lead commercial interior design projects in our Richmond, VA office. You will supervise programming, space planning, design development, and construction administration, mentoring junior designers and building client relationships.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor29s in Interior Design, NCIDQ, 15 years of experience, and strong leadership with Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Office tools; hybrid work after 6-month onsite; partial relocation

  • 15 years of professional interior design experience.
  • NCIDQ Certification required.
  • Strong commercial interior design project leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead programming, space planning, and design development.
  • Oversee field verification and existing-condition documentation.
  • Develop and manage construction documents.
  • Lead finish and furniture selections, specifications, and presentations.
  • Coordinate and oversee construction administration.
  • Mentor and guide junior interior design staff.
  • Maintain and strengthen long-term client relationships.
  • Support business development and repeat-work initiatives.
  • Ensure projects meet applicable building codes and industry standards.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our client’s Richmond, VA office. This role is ideal for a senior design professional with extensive commercial interior design experience who is ready to lead projects, mentor junior designers, build client relationships, and contribute to business development.

The Senior Interior Designer will oversee commercial interior projects from programming and space planning through construction administration, with potential for future management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead programming, space planning, and design development
  • Perform and oversee field verification and existing-condition documentation
  • Develop and manage construction documents
  • Lead finish and furniture selections, specifications, and presentations
  • Coordinate and oversee construction administration
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams
  • Maintain and strengthen long-term client relationships
  • Support business development and repeat-work initiatives
  • Mentor and guide junior interior design staff
  • Ensure projects meet applicable building codes and industry standards
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design
  • 15 years of professional interior design experience
  • Strong commercial interior design project leadership experience
  • NCIDQ Certification required
  • Proficiency with Revit
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and industry standards
  • Excellent client-facing, communication, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from design through construction administration
  • 3D rendering capabilities

Residential-only interior design experience will not qualify for this position.
