Responsibilities

We're hiring a Senior Interior Designer for our Houston, Texas office. The ideal candidate is a creative self-starter who's comfortable working on multiple projects at once. Previous experience in Civic, Community, Culture market sector preferred; prior design in other sectors, such as Commercial Mixed Use, Aviation, and/or Academic appreciated, but not required. The designer should thrive in a collaborative team environment with technically sophisticated and design-focused projects; clear communication skills are essential.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Interior design from project inception through construction.
  • Selection of materials, lighting, and fixtures; prior experience with furniture specification appreciated.
  • Coordination across design teams including architects; engineers and consultants; product representatives; furniture dealers and custom fabricators; and more.
  • Project documentation via client presentations, renderings, CD sets, detail drawings, specifications and finish binders, as well as timely and thorough responses during CA.

Qualifications

  • Interior Design degree from an accredited university
  • 8-10 years of relevant design experience and NCIDQ certification
  • Proficient in Revit and Enscape; Rhino is a plus
  • Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop and InDesign); prior experience with other visualization tools beneficial
  • Ability to think analytically and solve problems independently
