Job summary

AVRP Studios seeks an experienced interior design professional to join our San Diego team. You will collaborate with other design professionals, bringing creativity and a strong understanding of technology, building performance, and sustainability to our projects.

This exempt role requires in-office presence in San Diego with hybrid flexibility. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture, 10+ years of interior architecture/design experience, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited university.
• 10+ years of experience in Interior Architecture & Design.
• Accreditation/Registration/Licensure preferred or pursuing.
• Proficiency in core software: AutoCAD, Revit, Deltek, MS Office, Adobe Suite, SketchUp, 3D Studio Max, Lumion.

Responsibilities

• Develop professional networks and new business opportunities.
• Collaborate across disciplines and market sectors in project delivery.
• Present and document design concepts to client stakeholders.
• Understand materials, color, lighting, texture, graphics, FF&E, and interior construction to fit AVRP Studios’ context.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to staff evaluations.
• Participate in design community activities.

AVRP Studios is looking for talented design professionals in San Diego, CA. And finally, you will have a deep understanding of technology, building performance, and sustainability strategies in design and construction.

Reports to:Principal or Studio Director

Takes Direction from:Principal, Design; Director, Design; Project Manager

Status:Exempt

Schedule:This is a hybrid position, requiring regular in-office presence in San Diego, CA.

Education

Bachelors Degree, preferably in Interior Design or Architecture, from an accredited university.

Required Experience

10+ years of experience in Interior Architecture & Design.

Accreditation/Registration/Licensure or Pursuing Accreditation/Registration/Licensure preferred.

Qualifications

Basic computer, excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Ability to create complete presentation packages are essential.

Proficiency in the basic technical skills of interior design including the following computer skills:

Proficiency in Deltek Vantagepoint highly preferred.

Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop.

Proficiency in Revit is preferred.

Proficiency in of Adobe Suite and Sketch up graphic software.

Knowledge of 3D Modeling software such as 3D Studio Max and Lumion.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include collaborating across disciplines and market sectors in project delivery, clearly presenting and documenting design concepts to client stakeholders.

Strong understanding of materials, color, lighting, texture, graphics, FF&E, and interior construction to develop engaging designs that are tailored to AVRP Studios project unique context and client culture.

Advocate for improving and maintaining project excellence and delivery.

May mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff and deliver staff performance evaluations.

Contributes to office activities and involved in design community organizations.

This is an exempt position.This is a hybrid position, requiring regular in-office presence in San Diego, CA.

Salary Range: $85,000-$105,000
