Interior Talent in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to lead high-end residential projects from concept through installation, collaborating closely with the Principal and guiding the design team.

You will mentor junior designers, develop concepts, finish schedules, furniture plans, and elevations, while refining templates and standards to sustain a client-centered, luxury design experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design is required.
  • 8+ years in high-end residential interior design.
  • Leadership or mentorship experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and MS Office; Asana and Studio Designer preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural interiors projects from kickoff through final installation in close collaboration with the Principal.
  • Develop and present design concepts, finish schedules, furniture plans, and elevations.
  • Source, curate, price, and oversee procurement of all goods.
  • Manage client, builder, and architect relationships.
  • Serve as the firm's authority on design quality, the person who teaches, protects, and upholds what soulful, intentional design looks like at the firm.
  • Review and approve all client-facing deliverables.
  • Own and continuously refine the firm's design templates, presentation standards, and process documentation.
  • Be the go-to resource when designers face a hard decision, a complex client, or a design challenge requiring a seasoned creative eye.

Senior Interior Designer | High-end Residential Interior Design

We’re hiring for our client, a nationally recognized high-end residential interior design firm celebrated for its artistry, craftsmanship, and client-centered approach.

This is more than a design role. It is an opportunity for a seasoned designer to lead high-end residential projects from concept through installation while helping shape the standards, processes, and people behind an exceptional design experience. You will work closely with the Principal, lead complex projects, mentor emerging designers, and become a trusted creative resource for the entire team.

  • Lead architectural interiors projects from kickoff through final installation in close collaboration with the Principal
  • Develop and present thoughtfully crafted design concepts, finish schedules, furniture plans, and elevations
  • Source, curate, price, and oversee procurement of all goods, every detail considered
  • Manage client, builder, and architect relationships with warmth, clarity, and confidence
  • Serve as the firm's authority on design quality, the person who teaches, protects, and upholds what soulful, intentional design looks like at the firm
  • Review and approve all client-facing deliverables across the design team
  • Own and continuously refine the firm's design templates, presentation standards, and process documentation
  • Be the go-to resource when designers face a hard decision, a complex client, or a design challenge requiring a seasoned creative eye

Team Development & Training

  • Mentor and develop junior designers, setting expectations, giving feedback that is both direct and generous, and building their confidence and capability
  • Lead the onboarding of all new design hires to the firm's way, aesthetic, process, and standard of craftal>
  • Facilitate internal design reviews, knowledge shares, and team learning moments
  • Build a team that delivers at the luxury level consistently, not because you are standing over them, but because you have taught them how

Qualifications & Technical Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design
  • 8+ years in high-end residential interior design
  • Prior leadership experience or mentorship experience is preferred
  • Experience in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office is required
  • Experience in Asana and Studio Designer is preferred
