Job summary

Premier is seeking a highly creative Senior Interior Designer to lead hospitality and multifamily interior projects from concept to installation. You will mentor design teams, manage client relationships, and ensure design quality across multiple brands and schedules.

You will collaborate with owners, brand representatives, architects, and purchasing teams to deliver thoughtful, on-brand spaces while maintaining budgets and schedules. This is an onsite with hybrid flexibility role in Dallas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
  • 8–10 years of professional interior design experience, with hospitality focus.
  • 2 years of hospitality interior design experience required.
  • NCIDQ certification preferred.
  • Experience leading hospitality/multifamily projects from concept to installation.

About our company Premier: Premier Project Management provides design, procurement, engineering development and project management services to hotels. This includes implementing the majority of capital improvements for properties owned by Ashford Hospitality Trust (NYSE: AHT) and other hotel and mulit-family ownership groups. As an Interior Designer, you will work on the interior renovation of projects with varying levels of complexity from design through construction and installation. You will work with and receive mentorship from senior members in the department.

About Senior Interior Designer

Premier is seeking a highly creative, strategic, and experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our hospitality design team. This leadership role offers the opportunity to lead a variety of hospitality and multifamily projects across multiple brands, overseeing all phases of the design process from concept development through construction and installation.

The Senior Interior Designer will play a key role in shaping project vision, leading and mentoring design teams, and delivering thoughtful, well-executed design solutions that align with client goals, brand standards, operational needs, project schedules, and budgets. This position requires a strong balance of design creativity, technical expertise, project leadership, and client relationship management.

The individual in this role will lead projects ranging from Select Service to Luxury and Lifestyle hotels, as well as multifamily developments, while collaborating closely with clients, ownership groups, brand representatives, architects, consultants, purchasing teams, and internal project managers. The Senior Interior Designer will work closely with Design Directors to support project staffing, scheduling, team leadership, and overall project execution.

In addition to project responsibilities, this role will contribute to business development and pursuit efforts, including participation in client presentations, proposal development, interview preparation, and cultivating strong client relationships that support the continued growth of the studio. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who thrives in a collaborative environment, demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills, and is passionate about creating impactful hospitality experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead hospitality and multifamily interior design projects through all phases of design, documentation, construction administration, and installation.
  • Serve as the primary design lead on assigned projects, maintaining overall design vision, quality, and consistency throughout project execution.
  • Provide approval/ oversight of all creative design concepts, finish palettes, FF&E selections, and spatial planning solutions that align with client goals, operational needs, budgets, and brand standards.
  • Lead and mentor Interior Designers and Junior Design staff by providing guidance, support, constructive feedback, and oversight throughout all phases of project development.
  • Collaborate closely with Design Directors regarding project staffing, team utilization, scheduling, and project priorities to help balance workloads, allocate resources effectively, and support successful project execution across multiple deadlines.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Coordinate effectively with architects, consultants, purchasing teams, contractors, ownership groups, hotel operators, and brand representatives to ensure project success.
  • Lead project coordination meetings, client presentations, and brand review discussions with professionalism and confidence.
  • Prepare, review, and oversee project documentation including plans, elevations, finish plans, custom millwork details, specifications, and presentation materials.
  • Ensure design documentation is accurate, complete, well-coordinated, and consistent with project intent, code requirements, ADA standards, and life safety considerations.
  • Oversee FF&E specifications and material selections utilizing SPEXX or similar specification platforms.
  • Develop and manage project budgets throughout each phase of design, maintaining proactive communication with clients and internal teams to ensure alignment, address variances, and support overall project progress and success.
  • Research and specify furniture, finishes, fabrics, lighting, and materials with consideration for durability, maintenance, performance standards, operational functionality, and project budgets.
  • Participate in construction administration activities including submittal reviews, RFIs, site visits, punch walks, and installation coordination.
  • Support business development and project pursuit efforts through participation in proposals, interview presentations, client meetings, site walks, and narrative initiatives.
  • Help cultivate and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication, proactive problem-solving, and successful project execution.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving hospitality design trends, guest expectations, brand standards, and industry innovations.
  • Contribute positively to studio culture, team collaboration, professional development initiatives, and overall design excellence within the firm.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
  • Minimum of eight to ten (8-10) years of professional interior design experience, with significant hospitality project experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience in interior design within the hospitality industry - required
  • NCIDQ certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading hospitality and/or multifamily projects from concept through installation.
  • Strong understanding of hospitality brand standards and approval processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and client management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with FF&E specification platforms such as SPEXX or similar specification platform.
  • Strong knowledge of interior construction methods, detailing, accessibility requirements, and applicable building codes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute positively to team culture and project success.
