Avangrid seeks a Lead Engineer - Interconnections in Rochester, NY to lead interconnection analyses for DER and new connections, developing power-flow models with CYME and mentoring the project team.

The candidate has a BSEE, 7+ years in electric distribution planning, and experience with CYME, PSS/E, SYNERGY, ASPEN; advanced degree or PE is a plus. Knowledge of IEEE/ANSI standards and strong communication are essential.

Formación

• BSEE degree required; 7+ years in electric distribution planning.
• Advanced degree and/or PE license desired.
• Strong knowledge of distribution power systems and planning.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading teams.
• Proficiency with CYME, PSS/E, SYNERGY, and ASPEN.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze DER interconnections across multiple voltage levels and report findings.
• Assess new customer connections to the distribution network and summarize results.
• Develop distribution power flow models using CYME for interconnection studies.
• Work independently and review peers' planning work.
• Mentor team members on distribution planning issues.
• Apply AVANGRID, IEEE, and ANSI planning standards in analyses.
• Use tools like GIS (ArcFM), SAP, and Load Data systems daily.
• Assist during storm restoration efforts.
