Job summary

Avangrid is seeking a Principal Engineer - Interconnections to independently lead complex distribution planning projects across NY. You will mentor engineers, direct interconnection studies, and participate in regulatory engagements while advancing reliability and DER integration.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years of experience, and strong leadership skills. Location includes Binghamton, NY and Rochester, NY with office-based work.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced degree and/or PE license desired.
• Broad knowledge of Distribution Planning, Reliability Engineering and DER.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex distribution planning and reliability issues for large-scale load additions and DER interconnections.
• Develop alternative methods or design concepts, incl. NWAs.
• Lead and mentor engineers in Interconnections; present to regulators/public entities.
• Manage cross-OpCo projects and initiatives; oversee investigations and studies.
