Job summary

Highland Electric Fleets seeks a Senior Interconnection Manager to own the utility interconnection and new-service program across a large battery energy storage, edge compute, and EV charging portfolio. You will coordinate with utilities and external partners to move diligence and approvals on ambitious timelines.

You will lead relations with utilities, supervise external diligence teams, and align milestones with design and permitting so energized service is delivered on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of related experience.
• Experience with electric utilities—interconnection, new service requests, and upgrades.
• Experience coordinating multiple concurrent projects with external partners.
• Ability to move utility applications forward on aggressive timelines.
• Experience negotiating interconnection agreements with utilities.

Responsibilities

• Own the utility interconnection and new-service program across development portfolio.
• Lead utility diligence to confirm buildability, capacity, upgrades, timelines, and costs.
• Prepare and manage new utility service and interconnection applications through approval.
• Serve as Highland’s main contact with electric utilities, managing timelines and budgets.
• Functionally lead and quality-check external partners performing utility diligence and applications.
• Coordinate design and permitting with utility milestones.
• Manage rate schedules and tariff selection.
• Contribute utility costs to project budgets and support unit-cost installation model.
• Build repository of utility requirements by territory to expedite engagements.
• Develop relationships and standardized interconnection playbooks with utilities.
