Job summary

Amentum seeks a Senior Editor to lead the preparation of finished intelligence products for senior government and national security audiences. You will ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to IC standards while coordinating with analysts and production teams to maintain analytic integrity.

You will mentor authors, manage tight deadlines, and ensure all materials meet classification and dissemination requirements, with strong emphasis on quality control and formatting consistency.

Qualifications

• Editing and preparing finished intelligence products for senior government, military and national security decision-makers.
• Knowledge of IC and DoD editorial, production, tradecraft, dissemination and publication standards.
• Review complex intelligence products for grammar, punctuation, syntax, clarity, logic and analytic integrity.
• Knowledge of IC and DoD classification guidance and information handling procedures.
• Adherence to agency style guides and specialized intelligence terminology across subjects.
• Coordinate with analysts, authors and leadership to improve product quality while preserving meaning.
• Review tables, graphics and visuals for consistency with narratives.
• Synthesize complex, incomplete information concisely and clearly.
• Work independently with minimal oversight under tight deadlines.
• Provide constructive editorial feedback and resolve content disagreements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead technical editor for finished intelligence products, ensuring IC standards.
• Review, edit, and format intelligence assessments, reports, briefings and executive products.
• Collaborate with analysts and production teams to improve quality while preserving analytic judgments.
• Verify compliance with publication standards; maintain style guides and QC processes; mentor authors.
• Manage multiple production schedules and ensure timely, publication-ready deliverables.
