Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) seeks a Senior Intelligence Analyst in Chantilly, VA to deliver strategic and operational intelligence for national defense programs.

You will serve as a SME on China or Russia, supporting Portfolio Leads and Project Managers with tailored assessments and intelligence products. The role requires 10+ years of analytic experience, TS/SCI clearance, and the ability to engage with interagency partners.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance at time of application with ability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph clearance.
• Minimum of 10 years (8 years with relevant MA/MS degree) of professional intelligence analysis experience with a focus on China and/or Russia.
• Demonstrated experience producing strategic and operational level intelligence products for senior-level decision makers.
• Demonstrated mastery of intelligence analytic tradecraft and SATs.
• Knowledge of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and air-defense systems including propulsion, guidance, payloads, and launch platforms.
• Advanced understanding of targeting methodologies, network analysis, and intelligence support to joint operations.
• Strong critical thinking with ability to work amid ambiguity and incomplete information.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for senior civilian and military briefings.
• Ability to travel up to 10-20%.
• Ability to work full-time in a Chantilly office within SCIF/SAPF spaces.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze complex, multi-source data to identify adversary capabilities and vulnerabilities.
• Synthesize large volumes of technical intelligence into clear, actionable assessments.
• Maintain deep knowledge of China and/or Russia, including leadership dynamics and military doctrine.
• Understand weapons development lifecycles, from R&D indicators to deployment patterns.
• Assess capability maturity, operational limitations, and tactical integration.
• Coordinate with interagency partners, DoD, and IC stakeholders to synchronize analytic efforts.
