Job summary

Millennium Software and Staffing Inc is seeking a Senior Cloud Integration Engineer to design, build, deploy and support cloud-native integration services. You will work with Camel Quarkus, Kafka, Java, and Kubernetes to connect SAP, Oracle, ERP and other enterprise systems.

The role requires hands-on Camel Quarkus development, Kafka design, Kubernetes deployment, and strong CI/CD and testing practices. You will troubleshoot production issues and contribute to observability using OpenTelemetry,

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Apache Camel, especially Camel Quarkus.
• Build integration routes using Java DSL or YAML DSL.
• Strong understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIPs) including routing, aggregation, idempotency, and retry mechanisms.
• Demonstrated experience building integration services, not just studying Camel.
• Quarkus expertise including configuration management, metrics, build-time vs runtime behavior, and performance tuning.
• Experience designing Kafka solutions (partitions, retry strategy, poison messages) and deploying on Kubernetes (ConfigMaps, Secrets, liveness/readiness probes, Helm/Kustomize).
• Enterprise integration background with SAP, Oracle, ERP, supply chain, inventory systems.
• Observability & Production support knowledge (OpenTelemetry, Micrometer, Grafana, Loki, ELK).
• Testing & CI/CD experience (Camel Test Framework, Quarkus testing, Testcontainers, Kafka testing, GitOps, Docker, automated deployments).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native integration services using Camel Quarkus, Kafka, Java, and Kubernetes.
• Build and optimize integration routes with Java DSL or YAML DSL.
• Implement robust error handling, idempotent receivers, and distributed transactions patterns.
• Develop and maintain microservices with Quarkus, focusing on performance and startup efficiency.
• Design and implement Kafka topics, partitions, and retry/poison-message strategies.
• Configure and operate on Kubernetes via ConfigMaps/Secrets, Liveness/Readiness probes, and Helm/Kustomize.
• Collaborate across teams to integrate SAP, Oracle, ERP, and supply-chain systems.
• Build observability and production support capabilities using OpenTelemetry, Micrometer, Grafana, Loki, and ELK.

The client is looking for a Senior Integration Engineer/Developer who can build, deploy, and support cloud-native integration solutions using Camel Quarkus, Kafka, Java, and Kubernetes. The candidate should have strong enterprise integration experience and be comfortable working in modern containerized environments.

1. Strong Camel Quarkus Developer (Must Have)

• Hands-on experience with Apache Camel, especially Camel Quarkus
• Build integration routes using Java DSL or YAML DSL

Client wants someone who has actually built integration services, not just studied Camel.

Camel Quarkus is a framework that combines Apache Camel and Quarkus to build fast, lightweight, cloud-native integration applications.

2. Quarkus Expert (Must Have)

Should understand:

3. Kafka Integration Specialist (Must Have)

Must know how to design Kafka solutions:

• Partitions
• Retry strategy

Should have deployed applications on Kubernetes using:

• Helm Charts or Kustomize
• Stateless microservices
• Horizontal scaling

6. Enterprise Integration Background (Must Have)
