Qualifications

• 10–15+ years in the insurance industry with at least 5 years in leadership.
• Proven success managing an industry-focused underwriting portfolio, practice line, or business unit.
• Deep subject matter expertise in at least one key vertical (Healthcare, Manufacturing, etc.) or commercial insurance.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead a multi-year strategic plan to design an industry practice aligned with corporate goals.
• Lead the design and implementation of tactical initiatives to build the practice.
• Monitor regulatory developments, risks, and trends for the focus areas.
• Act as the face of the practice, driving thought leadership and industry presence.
• Support achievement of Profit, Growth, and rate goals for the industry portfolio across regions.
• Set underwriting appetite, pricing strategy, and risk selection criteria with product, underwriting and actuarial teams.
• Evaluate performance across KPIs and take corrective actions.
• Sponsor top-tier broker and client relationships for the industry verticals.
• Support field and distribution on major pursuits and renewals.
• Lead development of industry-specific collateral, pitch strategies, and client tools.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and technology to tailor coverage and service offerings.
• Drive new product ideas or enhancements aligned with industry needs.
• Support training, underwriting guidelines, and marketing strategies.
• Build and mentor a high-performing underwriting team.
• Drive industry initiatives across functions (Loss Control, claims, underwriting).
• Foster collaboration, innovation, and accountability across staff.
• Promote knowledge-sharing and compliance with policies and laws.
