The Risk & Insurance team at DoorDash is responsible for all things corporate insurance at the company. We are a rapidly growing and exciting function that helps DoorDash manage risk and safety with a close lens on the company's bottom line. We are looking for forward thinkers who are excited to help build out this team and match our ambitious cross-functional partners at DoorDash.

About The Role
We are looking for a passionate Senior Insurance Data Lead who will be a member of DoorDash’s Corporate Risk & Insurance function within the Finance & Strategy team. You will have the opportunity to improve our data capabilities and seek data-driven insights to inform our insurance risk management decisions, advise operational strategy, and enable optimal structuring of insurance programs. You will report to the Senior Manager, Actuary. This role may be remote, preferably based at a DoorDash hub office.

1. Lead the development and maintenance of key insurance metrics that drive business decisions on DoorDash’s insurance strategies.
2. Own and develop insurance data infrastructure to support analytics by creating data pipelines and data models with high data quality.
3. Design and report insurance and claim-related analytics to help optimize insurance strategies.
4. Collaborate with senior team members to define and report monthly performance metrics and suggest risk mitigation strategies.
5. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless task execution within established timelines.

We’re Excited About You Because You Have…

1. 4-7 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or data engineering roles.
2. 4+ years of advanced data visualization skills in Tableau, Sigma, Mode, or relevant tools.
3. Proven experience in SQL and Python for working with ETL pipelines and object-oriented programming.
4. Designed ETL processes and data models.
5. Experience with Airflow or similar data engineering management tools.
6. Working knowledge in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry.
7. Actuarial experience is a plus.
8. Prior experience with gig or sharing economy companies is a plus.
