Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer in Salt Lake City to design controls and instrumentation for custom industrial systems. The role involves leading PLC solutions from concept to commissioning and coordinating with engineering, sales, operations, and customers.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of controls experience, strong PLC skills across major platforms, and a deep understanding of electrical schematics, NEC/NFPA standards, and panel design. On-site role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in electrical engineering or related field.
At least 10+ years of controls engineering experience in OEM or industrial environments.
Strong PLC programming experience with major platforms.
Experience designing electrical schematics and control panels.

Responsibilities

Design controls and instrumentation for custom-engineered industrial systems
Work directly with Project Engineering, Sales, Operations, panel shops, field service teams, and customers
Own PLC/control solutions from initial concept through commissioning
Work with PLC, HMI, instrumentation, VFD, burner management, and process control technologies
Solve challenging field and application problems rather than repeating the same system
Identify design improvements and cost-saving opportunities that impact the business
