Qualifications

Reimagine What's Possible

The Instrument Specialist is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation, control valves and analyzers in our Facilities. This is a residence based, travel position for the North Subregion. Specialists are on call with roughly 65-75% travel.

Specialist must be familiar with Transmitters, calibrations, troubleshooting, switches, analyzers, programmable controllers, level indicators, and pay meter systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Calibrate manufacturing instrumentation according to procedures.

  • Trouble shoot PLC equipment.

  • Ability to read and comprehend circuits / prints / P&ID's / schematics.

  • Complete instrument tracking documentation.

  • Complete required safety tasks and activities.

  • Develop procedures for instrument calibrations and preventive maintenance tasks.

  • Support facility operations by completing assigned work orders.

  • Troubleshoot analyzers, transmitters, sensor, PLC and other instruments.

  • This is a safety sensitive position.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • Technical degree and/or completion of an apprenticeship program, trade school diploma or certificate is a plus.

  • 5 years minimum of industrial maintenance experience working on instrumentation or electrical equipment, and calibration in a chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or plastic plant or 3 years minimum of experience with a technical degree.

  • Analyzer experience a plus

  • SAP knowledge highly desired but not required.

  • Applicable military training will be considered equivalent to industrial experience.

  • Strong mechanical skills.

  • Proficient communication and computer skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to quality workmanship and flexibility in job assignments.

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and climb ladders.

  • Able to work in a team environment.
