Job summary

NESC Staffing Corp. in Tampa, FL, seeks a Senior Instrument & Controls Engineer to ensure project calculations, drawings, and specifications meet schedule and budget.

You will lead design teams, coordinate with clients, and ensure compliance with industry codes; extensive PLC/DCS experience and PE registration required.

Hybrid work arrangement with mandatory onsite presence in Tampa; travel may be required for domestic/international projects.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Engineering (Instrumentation & Control).
• 10–15 years as a project lead engineer in design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration required.
• Extensive instrumentation and control systems experience for chemical/refining plants.
• PLC/DCS experience with systems like Allen‑Bradley, DeltaV, Yokogawa, Honeywell.
• Knowledge of ISA, NFPA, API, ASME, OSHA codes and standards.
• Subcontract development for instrument/control installations; scope of work.
• Proficient in MS Office and Google Workspace; strong communication.
• Willingness to travel; able to work autonomously or with a team.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of digital and analog control systems for design and supervision.
• Prepares engineering estimates, budgeting, scheduling, and progress reporting.
• Coordinates with clients on instrument specs and control philosophy for P&ID work.
• Supervises engineering and design team members; plans manpower and schedule.
• Provides technical guidance and quality checks as a design-lead engineer.
• Liaises with plant and construction teams on domestic/international projects.
• Coordinates with local authorities for permits and regulatory compliance.
