Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer & Facilitator to lead design, development, delivery, and evaluation of comprehensive training programs for the Power Generation Team. You will ensure personnel are skilled, safe, and effective, aligning training with business goals, site procedures, and industry standards.

You will mentor junior instructors, drive workforce readiness, and support operational excellence through continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Design and deliver technical training programs aligned with safety, site procedures and business needs.
• Mentor junior instructors and foster continuous learning and professional development.
• Align training initiatives with organizational goals and industry standards.
• Proactively identify and address workforce training needs and improvements.
• Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and conduct training programs for electric utility industry contexts.
• Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced instructors.
• Develop and implement initiatives supporting department and business unit goals.
• Supervise training participants in line with company policies.
• Support cross-team activities to ensure overall training success.
• Evaluate training materials and effectiveness, and create action plans for deficiencies.
• Facilitate training program administration and apprenticeship activities as needed.
• Conduct assessments and remediation of student performance.
• Assist with apprentice rotation interviews and field visits as needed.
• Perform formal training evaluations at the business unit level.
