Mortenson is currently seeking aSenior Instructional Designerresponsible for designing and developing online, instructor-led, and virtual courses to help team members successfully perform in role while driving business results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the strategy and execution of learning programs that align to our culture and business goals.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Business leaders, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to design learning programs while identifying learning objectives that meet business and learner requirements
  • Update existing courses and training materials
  • Apply instructional design skills and design thinking principles to a variety of learning projects
  • Develop engaging, learner-centered content and course materials (e.g., online courses, facilitator guides, participant materials, presentations, and tools).
  • Source or create graphics and visuals that positively contribute to the learner’s overall experience
  • Partner with vendors to design scalable learning programs and develop learner-centric and engaging training materials
  • Manage program management, including stakeholders, timeline, resources, budget, and strategic communications
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum six years’ experience in instructional design, adult learning theory, and technical writing
  • Minimum five years’ experience managing multiple learning programs / projects at a time
  • Articulate storyline and graphic design experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
  • Shown ability to work independently and value a collaborative and team-oriented culture
  • Excellent project management skills; ability to manage multiple learning programs at one time
  • Strong communication and presentation writing skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Shown ability to consistently meet deadlines and produce high quality work
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback

The base pay range for this roleis $91,000 - $136,500. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
