Job summary

The Guitar Center Company is seeking a Lead Commercial Installer to oversee installation, startup, and closeout of projects, reporting to the Production Manager and coordinating with Project Managers. This role emphasizes installation, testing, safety, and paperwork accuracy across multiple crews in commercial environments.

You will train apprentices, ensure compliance with company standards, and work with Systems Engineers during startup to deliver fully integrated solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electronic field experience using AC/DC theory.
• Proper use and safety with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to wire and troubleshoot relay logic.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Installs and pulls wire as per specifications.
• Installs and wires equipment used in systems.
• Tests all equipment after termination to ensure performance.
• Adheres to safety manual and maintains safety for self and others.
• Completes paperwork on time (e.g., redlines, logs, time cards).
• Maintains install van and van stock; keeps it clean and organized.
• Daily communications with Project Manager on delays and status.
• Keeps daily logbook with customer requests, work performed, and hours.
• Accurately fills out timebills in the system with proper job numbers.
• Oversees apprentice timecard accuracy and training.
• Coordinates multiple crews to meet estimates and timelines.
• Trains apprentices on procedures, systems, and installation techniques.
• Ensures all work meets company standards and quality.
• Ensures work stays within each phase's estimate.
• Collaborates with Systems Engineers on startup for full compliance.
• Facilitates project closeout and turnover to client/service team.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
