Job description

RK&K is hiring a talented and experienced Sr. Inspector - Records Manager for our Transportation Projects in Virginia. In this role you will support and strengthen our construction management/inspection business. As a Sr. Inspector -Records Manager with RK&K you will have the opportunity to grow your skills while supporting one or multiple transportation projects.

Essential Functions

• Maintain various project logs and contract documentation (tort claims, correspondence, submittals, materials testing logs, etc.)


• Prepare progress estimates using VDOT-approved software suites


• Prepare project financial reports


• Review construction reports and documentation for conformance to project requirements


• Review materials notebook, prepare C-31 subcontractor requests and work orders


• Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects


• Construction Inspection duties as needed

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience supporting VDOT or other transportation agencies on design and/or construction projects


• Familiar with Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build documentation requirements - contract administration


• Construction Inspection Experience


• Experience with preparation of independent estimates


• Organization and recordkeeping skills for documenting payment of road and bridge repairs


• Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office software such as MS Excel and MS Word; proficient in Adobe pdf editor, Bluebeam, and PlanGrid


• Ability to work independently on small construction projects


• Must possess excellent communication and conflict resolution skills

• Project Management experience


• Construction Materials Testing Certifications
