Job summary

The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) at City Colleges of Chicago is seeking a senior leader to direct investigations, audits, and reporting to promote integrity across CCC programs and operations.

Reporting to the Chancellor and Board, the Inspector General oversees staff, develops policies, and presents findings and recommendations while coordinating with external agencies to advance efficiency and compliance.

Qualifications

• Masters or J.D. with strong ethics and integrity commitment.
• Eight years in investigations/ethics/government oversight with leadership.
• Knowledge of federal, state, municipal laws and regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational management skills.
• Ability to travel throughout the District as required.

Responsibilities

• Develops policies and standards for fair, independent investigations and audits.
• Initiates investigations of conduct by officers, employees, Board members, and contractors.
• Directs investigators, prepares summary reports, and recommends corrective actions.
• Reviews complaints and determines appropriate response levels.
• Advises on strategic and legal investigative matters and interviewing techniques.
• Prepares final review of findings and recommendations for discipline or action.
• Delivers presentations for Board meetings on OIG activities and findings.
• Oversees bi-annual publication of investigations and audits with sustained findings.
• Sets performance expectations and manages OIG staff development.
• Manages annual operating budget and coordinates with external agencies.
