Job summary

Gulfstream’s GAC Brunswick site is seeking a Senior Inspector A&P for the second shift to perform quality control inspections on aircraft/components, ensuring workmanship meets FAA/CAA requirements and that airworthiness documentation is complete and filed.

The role requires 8 years in aviation maintenance with 2 years on Gulfstream aircraft and 2 years of aircraft inspection experience, plus an A&P license, strong documentation skills, and the ability to mentor staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 8 years aviation maintenance experience including 2 years on Gulfstream aircraft
• A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required
• 2 years of aircraft inspection experience

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control inspections on aircraft/components
• Complete inspections of aircraft, engine, and component repairs and alterations to ensure FAA/CAA conformity
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and inspection requirements during maintenance or outfitting
• Keep accurate, neat, and legible records of work performed on aircraft/components
• Coordinate with RTS to ensure accurate aircraft records are produced in a timely manner
• Conduct audits of maintenance documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to return to service
• Ensure aircraft/components are airworthy prior to any flight activities
• Mentor technicians on effective documentation
• Provide technical support to inspection personnel in supporting FAA/CAA requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned

Experience in major aircraft sheet metal and avionics alterations. Able to work second shift 1600-0230 Monday through Thursday.

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. 8 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical) to include 2 years of relevant Gulfstream aircraft experience and 2 years of aircraft inspection experience. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required.

Position Purpose: Performs inspections of aircraft, aircraft components, and reviews paperwork to ensure that workmanship meets acceptable standards of quality, and that aircraft are returned to service in an airworthy condition with all required documentation properly completed and filed. Works as an integral part of the Quality Control/Assurance team assuring aircraft/components are in compliance to FAA/CAA requirements.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:

• Responsible for Quality Control inspections on aircraft/components.
• Completes inspections of aircraft, engine, and component repairs and alterations to ensure conformity to FAA approved/acceptable data.
• Coordinates mechanical, electrical, and inspection requirements on the aircraft during maintenance or outfitting.
• Keeps accurate, neat, and legible records of the work performed on aircraft/components.
• Coordinates throughout assigned jobs with RTS to ensure accurate aircraft records are produced in a timely manner.
• Conducts audits of maintenance documentation for accuracy and completion on all aircraft prior to approval for return to service.
• Ensures aircraft/components are airworthy prior to any flight activities.
• Mentors technicians on effective documentation.

Additional Functions:

• Communicates with management as required to identify work assignments and delivery schedules.
• Provides technical support to inspection personnel in supporting the FAA and/or CAA documented requirements.

Other Requirements

• Strong computer skills.
• Knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems.
• Knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials.
• Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation, shop mathematics, and QC Procedures.
• Working knowledge and application of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control systems and methodologies.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
