Job summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking an experienced clinical documentation professional to review inpatient records for payer populations, auditing diagnosis and procedure coding, DRG assignment, and POA status. The role collaborates with coders and CDSs to drive accurate documentation and timely DRG outcomes.

Qualified candidates have CCS certification, at least five years in acute care coding, and strong knowledge of MS-DRG and AP-DRG impacts. Bachelor's degree and RHIA/RHIT are preferred.

Qualifications

• CCS certification and at least five years in acute care coding.
• Knowledge of MS-DRG and AP-DRG impact on DRG assignment.
• Strong interpersonal, prioritization and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records for payer populations post-discharge and pre-bill.
• Audit diagnosis/procedure coding, DRG assignment, and POA status.
• Collaborate with coders and CDSs to draft physician queries.
• Coordinate coding education and remediation as needed.
