Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Registered Dietitian to provide comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy for inpatients with diverse medical conditions. You will perform malnutrition assessments, nutrition-focused exams, and education, while recommending nutrition support as appropriate.

You will consult with physicians, develop nutrition plans, and participate in rounds and education initiatives. A strong emphasis on evidence-based practice, professional growth, and cross-coverage is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Food & Nutrition Science with accredited dietetic internship
Master's degree required if completed after January 1, 2024
Five to seven years of progressive clinical nutrition experience (minimum) or three years with specialty certification

Responsibilities

Consults with physicians and health professionals about patients’ nutritional statuses and diet plans
Formulates nutrition assessment, evaluation and follow-up plans for patients at nutrition risk
Provides diet rationale for self-management in/outpatients
Participates in clinical rounds and cross-coverage as needed
Reviews literature annually and presents to peers in Journal Club
Presents at least one case study to peers annually
Maintains CDR credentials and DC Licensure; adheres to professional development plans
