Job summary

SMC Ltd. is seeking a seasoned Production Technical Lead to drive daily injection molding operations and supervise Mold Technicians and Material Handlers. You will mentor staff, coordinate cross‑functional support, and maintain production efficiency metrics on the floor.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in injection molding, strong troubleshooting skills, and excels in fast‑paced environments. This role offers a stable, on‑site production setting with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 10+ years’ experience in injection molding/manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge in injection molding processing and troubleshooting.
• Ability to direct multiple employees to accomplish daily production goals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to conduct technical training.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead in stressful situations.
• Desirable supervisory or leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily technical production activities in support of operations.
• Coordinate molding and automation technical support with scheduling, tool room, and maintenance.
• Assess production staff on daily performance and attendance.
• Direct supervision of Mold Technicians and Material Handlers.
• Identify training needs and coordinate training.
• Monitor cycle time and scrap rates to ensure BOM accuracy.
• Provide cost savings ideas and participate in cost savings activities.
• Hire technical resources within the technical group.
• Provide coverage for vacations and absences.
• Maintain a clean, tour-ready production floor.
• Complete mold setups and start production; assist in troubleshooting issues.
